Mechanical Maintenance Manager - Pokeno

We are seeking a proven mechanical maintenance professional to take on the challenge of Mechanical Maintenance Manager at our manufacturing facility at Pokeno. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of all planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities at one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities of its kind in the world.

The role:

Our Pokeno site is our newest and largest manufacturing site and marks an exciting period of innovation, efficiency, and quality improvements within Hynds. You will be accountable for project or work package delivery space, reliability analysis and improvement and asset management planning & design. You will use your strong mechanical background for capable and efficient organisation of internal and external resources. There will be some rostered weekend work required.

Key objectives will include:

  • Plan schedule and execute maintenance work packages
  • Plan, scope and specify the site mechanical reliability improvement programme
  • Create long term equipment upgrade and improvement plans
  • Ensure critical spare parts are identified, procured and stored
  • Develop contingency plans and recovery plans for potential component and equipment issues
  • Analyse, scope and drive plant reliability improvements in order to minimise potential for plant and equipment downtime
  • Assist with the development of the site asset management and maintenance strategy.

What you will bring:

  • Qualified Mechanical Technician - NZCE Mech, or Dip Mech Eng or BE Mech
  • 10 years' NZ manufacturing industry experience with a minimum of 5 years' experience as plant engineer or maintenance manager for a highly automated manufacturing plant (can include mining process plants)
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and experience in automated manufacturing machinery plants
  • Hands-on experience with developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures, schedules, coordinating and planning maintenance shuts and improvements
  • A track record in maintaining high health & safety standards within a team and incorporating improvements into plant and equipment
  • Ability to effectively lead and safely supervise team members and contractors on site
  • Proficient with developing and using Asset Management Software - Mainpac is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and temprament to engage others
  • Full Driving Licence
