Manhole & Plastic Line Technician - Pokeno

Hynds are currently seeking a Manhole and Plastic Line Technician at our new manufacturing facility in Pokeno. Our Pokeno facility is our newest and largest manufacturing site and marks an exciting period of innovation, efficiency, and quality improvements within Hynds. Reporting to the Factory Manager via the Supervisor, this role will be responsible for maintaining output components for the production of manholes and plastic-lined pipes within the Autocast division.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Read and understand technical drawings
  • Carry out plastic liner cutting and welding. Also, any repair required to the liner
  • Make precise machine adjustments and problem solve when necessary
  • Carry out concrete pipe dimensional checks and reinforcement cage dimensional checks
  • Checking of moulds and product's functionality
  • To ensure equipment is kept clean and tidy and is working in a calibrated condition
  • Carry out activities related to concrete trials preparation which will require
  • Ensure all quality requirements and standards are met
  • To ensure equipment is kept clean and tidy and is working in a calibrated condition
  • Ensure the daily duties and tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner and to the NZ relevant Standards
  • Following all health and safety requirements such as daily pre-start checks on equipment

What you will bring:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience with handling heavy tools, equipment and accessories
  • Familiar with making and testing concrete cylinders and concrete raw materials
  • Excellent computer skills with a familiarity of PLC and automated controls an advantage
  • Minimum of 12 months proven experience with mechanical and automated equipment and maintenance regimes
  • Able to work to production schedules and meet targets
  • Ability to monitor and continually improve production efficiencies while performing to the highest standard
  • Flexible with being able to work on your own and within a team environment
  • Able to learn quickly over a variety of equipment
  • Able to work in confined spaces and at heights with a reasonable level of physical fitness
  • Accurate timekeeping with the ability to work to deadlines
  • High level of both verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding and experience with NZ manufacturing safety standards

Consideration will be given to the candidates with a minimum of 12 months relevant experience.
